Color
rings Color refers to the relative tint that the diamond material may possess. Most diamonds form with slight tints of yellow to brown. Diamonds are graded from D, or absolutely colorless, through the alphabet to Z, which is strongly tinted. What most people don’t understand about diamond color grading, and an important consideration to keep in mind, is that this grading must be done prior to mounting the diamond, and it is done viewing the stone in a face down position through the bottom. Consequently there are many grades of color that are indistinguishable from each other when the diamond is viewed from the top, face up. When you visit a Kesslers Diamond Center we will show you how difficult it is to determine color in a really well cut diamond, a fact that never fails to amaze our clients.
