The Kessler 81

The Kessler 81 is our signature diamond featuring eighty-one facets instead of the traditional fifty-seven. More facets don’t necessarily make a diamond better. There are many diamonds on the market that feature extra facets, and we looked long and hard at most of these variations and found them all wanting in one characteristic or another. Then we discovered Moses Hodara and the Kessler 81. The reason there are so many new cuts on the market is that in today’s competitive environment, many jewelers are looking for ways to distinguish themselves from their competitors, and having a branded diamond is one way to accomplish that differentiation. At the same time, with the ever-increasing cost of diamond rough, cutters are looking for alternative cutting styles that will allow them to get better weight retention from their rough. As a result you have a plethora of new branded cuts on the market, each touted as being the latest and greatest advance in diamond cutting, while in reality, many of these are just new vehicles for cutters to successfully market diamonds cut for increased weight retention rather than for maximum beauty.

That leads to one of the most important differences between the Kessler 81 and many of the other alternative diamonds with extra faceting. The Kessler 81 starts out as a standard fifty-seven facet diamond. Then our diamond buyer painstakingly selects only those diamonds with excellent proportions for the transformation to a Kessler 81.

Once a diamond has been selected, it travels to Netanya, Israel where master cutter Moses Hodara, who developed this cut, personally oversees the process that turns it into a Kessler 81. Moses has been cutting diamonds for forty-three years and is legendary in Netanya, “The City of Diamonds.” Moses always believed that conventional cutting just wasn’t capable of freeing the last of the fire that nature locked away in diamond crystals millions of years ago. So his life has been one long quest to find the secret key that would unlock that primordial fire. In developing the Kessler 81, Moses found the key. And with it, he transforms the extraordinary into the incomparable. See for yourself. As beautiful as our carefully chosen, traditional fifty-seven facet round diamonds are, the Kessler 81 definitely captures the last measure of brilliance.

If you want a diamond that burns with all the fire and brilliance Mother Nature intended, the Kessler 81 is the diamond for you.
