Natural diamonds are gemstones that were formed within the earth's crust billions of years ago. Natural diamonds are formed by three factors: heat, pressure, and time. They are formed deep underground, approximately 100 miles into the Earth's crust. The time factor is what makes a natural diamond so unique.
